Much of the summer has been taking up with work, family obligations and wedding prep. So as August started to slip away I decided to plan a super secret surprise day for The Goog (well 3 people knew were we where going, but he didn't and that's the important part). So armed with the GPS, road snacks and vague idea of what we would do when we got there, we set out.

What....after all this time, a post???? So this summer has been an absolute roller coaster, with some very high highs and the absolute lowest of lows. I'll not get into it, but instead what I will try to do is catch up on some of the more pleasant aspects of the last few months. For example, the northern garden....
Parsley Salad
I made this for Durian Day after reading about how much that fruit can give you "death breath". Parsley is a natural breath freshener and this salad was a big hit. It's was mainly cobbled together from stuff I had in my fridge.

Last night, for Comicazi Book Club (name still pending), we decided that each member would chose a book (graphic novel) and report on it back to the rest of the club. This would help us to learn more about the favorite books of each member. I was pretty gungho about this idea. Until I realized it was basically doing a presentation....
So because this felt more like public speaking then a usual meeting would, and because I hate public speaking (even though I was among friends), I wrote something up, which really helped.

Durian Adventure
