Omniscient Rodents

I'm putting all my faith in the groundhog this year. That little bugger has predicted more winter(not a tough call) and for once, I almost hope he's right. You see, this year I got a good deal on snowshoes, but the necessary conditions, the confluence of a decent amount of quality snow and a day off, have not occured for me.

Yes, the one year I almost wish for snow, it has either been too warm , or rainy, or just light powdery snow. So my dreams of floating like magic over great expanses of unspoiled terrain and maybe trying a winter ascent of a small mountain like wachusset or watatic, gone, at least to this point. Maybe that rodent is right though. Maybe I'll get at least one day's use out of them without driving up to NH. It is New England though, so I have no doubt they'll get some use in the years to come.
