It's Halloween yet again, perhaps the best holiday of holidays. I've got a costume from my childhood all finished up in 4 short days. And now it's time to sit back and enjoy the sounds of the season. And nothing says Halloween like a little bit of Horror Punk. The Misfits are the classic example of horror punk. They also happen to kick mucho ass. And they've had a great focus on classic horror movies, the occult and just horrible things in general. This was especially true when Glen Danzig was in the band. Oh, did I mention they have a song about Halloween?
Sure the quality ain't that great, but it's from way back when. Danzig's neighborhood must have been pretty tough. I've heard about candy apples w/ razor blades, but there were no burning bodies in my neighborhood.
The Misfits truly have a worldwide influence. They even spawned a Japanese horror punk band.
When I die, I'm gonna start a band!
I'll sing about my flesh rotting and whatever else dead people thing about.
This is probably the most unique Halloween cover I've ever heard.
Plus, the chick is pretty cute!
Ok, ok, I could post a few dozen more videos, but then I'd have nothing to post next Halloween!
